{"id":80398,"date":"2022-09-16T17:06:28","date_gmt":"2022-09-16T21:06:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=80398"},"modified":"2023-03-22T11:38:03","modified_gmt":"2023-03-22T15:38:03","slug":"grand-opening-set-for-brocks-new-nursing-simulation-lab","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2022\/09\/grand-opening-set-for-brocks-new-nursing-simulation-lab\/","title":{"rendered":"Grand opening set for Brock\u2019s new Nursing simulation lab"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From the equipment to the simulated patients in need of care, each aspect of Brock University\u2019s new state-of-the-art Nursing Clinical Simulation Lab is set up to mirror a hospital unit.<\/p>\n<p>The new facility, which enables students to gain valuable hands-on experience and further develop their skills as they prepare for clinical placements in health care, will officially open its doors next week.<\/p>\n<p>A grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held in the lab, located across Glenridge Avenue from the main campus in East Academic Building 3, on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 3 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>The event will include a formal introduction to the space as well as guided tours and demonstrations of the lab\u2019s simulation equipment led by undergraduate students, lab co-ordinators and faculty. The lab\u2019s high-fidelity simulators represent patients from across the lifespan and from diverse populations.<\/p>\n<p>For more than two decades, Brock University has been educating future health-care workers through its nationally recognized Nursing program.
