{"id":78575,"date":"2022-06-08T16:51:38","date_gmt":"2022-06-08T20:51:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=78575"},"modified":"2022-06-08T16:52:31","modified_gmt":"2022-06-08T20:52:31","slug":"gallery-childrens-lemonade-stands-draw-crowd-to-jubilee-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2022\/06\/gallery-childrens-lemonade-stands-draw-crowd-to-jubilee-court\/","title":{"rendered":"GALLERY: Children&#8217;s lemonade stands draw crowd to Jubilee Court"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The sweet \u2014 and in this case, sour \u2014 taste of success left local elementary school students smiling after an afternoon of pitching their lemonade businesses to the Brock and wider Niagara community.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2022\/06\/grade-4-students-to-quench-thirst-for-financial-literacy-at-brock-firstontario-lemonade-event\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Goodman Lemonade returned to Jubilee Court<\/a> Wednesday, June 8 with Grade 4 and 5 students from James Morden Public School in Niagara Falls and St. Patrick Catholic Elementary School in Port Colborne selling their refreshing drinks to the parched crowd.<\/p>\n<p>Sponsored by FirstOntario Credit Union, the event saw Brock&#8217;s Goodman Group welcome the young entrepreneurs to campus to set up lemonade stands they designed and built to market and solicit customers.<\/p>\n<p>FirstOntario\u2019s support of the Goodman Lemonade program, which has been teaching Niagara elementary students the basics of running a for-profit business since 2017, is part of a four-year partnership with Brock to help students of all ages build financial literacy skills through the development of innovative, student-centred programming.
