The budget also includes the next phase of funding for Brock\u2019s Yousef Haj-Ahmad Department of Engineering, money for \u00a0the Professional and Continuing Studies program and funds to support the expanded Department of Nursing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe board has endorsed a responsible spending plan that optimistically advances Brock\u2019s strategic priorities,\u201d says Interim President and Provost Lynn Wells. \u201cWe are emerging from more than two years of pandemic uncertainty and thankfully Brock is in a strong financial position that allows us to make these priority investments to benefit our students and faculty.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a sound budget that enables Brock to take strategic next steps,\u201d says Board of Trustees Chair Mark Arthur. \u201cIt provides significant investments to help Brock\u2019s students break through and realize their full potential, while supporting our efforts to grow new programs and build a better community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The budget includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a 3 per cent increase in the Research Support Fund allocation<\/li>\n<li>new research funding to support Post-Doctoral Fellows<\/li>\n<li>new money to hire more student-serving health and wellness practitioners<\/li>\n<li>increased scholarship funding for Indigenous students<\/li>\n<li>resources to grow Indigenous content in curricula and a commitment to continue investments to aid reconciliation and decolonization.<\/li>\n<li>more money to support library acquisitions<\/li>\n<li>additional funds to help keep University data secure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThis financial plan is key to helping Brock continue to emerge from the shadow of the pandemic.
