{"id":77966,"date":"2022-05-02T13:19:51","date_gmt":"2022-05-02T17:19:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=77966"},"modified":"2022-05-04T09:35:44","modified_gmt":"2022-05-04T13:35:44","slug":"a-message-from-brock-president-lynn-wells-about-mental-health-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2022\/05\/a-message-from-brock-president-lynn-wells-about-mental-health-week\/","title":{"rendered":"A message from Brock President Lynn Wells about Mental Health Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In recognition of Mental Health Week, Interim President Lynn Wells is reminding Brock University students and employees of the importance of caring for one\u2019s mental health and well-being.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe past several years have been challenging for all of us,\u201d she says. \u201cBrock University takes the mental health and overall well-being of our community members very seriously.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wells says <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mentalhealthweek.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mental Health Week<\/a>, which takes place Monday, May 2 to Sunday, May 8, is an opportunity to check in with colleagues, friends and family members and take part in learning opportunities that promote positive mental health.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/f1Ii-FY98EA\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Brock University is proud to be a leader in campus mental health, having ranked first among all comprehensive universities in Canada for student mental health supports in the annual <a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2021\/10\/brock-scores-high-marks-for-student-support-satisfaction-in-national-university-rankings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Maclean\u2019s<\/em> University Rankings<\/a> for the fourth-consecutive year.<\/p>\n<p>In support of mental health awareness, the Brock community is encouraged to wear green on Friday, May 6.
