{"id":77944,"date":"2022-05-02T12:21:32","date_gmt":"2022-05-02T16:21:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=77944"},"modified":"2022-05-02T16:21:45","modified_gmt":"2022-05-02T20:21:45","slug":"new-brock-library-organizational-structure-now-in-effect","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2022\/05\/new-brock-library-organizational-structure-now-in-effect\/","title":{"rendered":"New Brock Library organizational structure now in effect"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Brock University Library has implemented a new organizational structure as of Monday, May 2.<\/p>\n<p>Changes include librarians supporting academic programs in a new way, <a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/library\/departments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">two new departments<\/a> and a department name change:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The model of individual liaison librarians supporting units has been replaced with a multi-functional team-based approach. Each Faculty will have a team of librarians who will act as a point of contact and draw upon expertise from across library departments. Teams are listed on the <a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/library\/faculty-teams\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brock Library website<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>A new Teaching and Learning Department will provide oversight for the library\u2019s continuing and strategic role in instruction and support for teaching and learning activities across the curriculum.<\/li>\n<li>A new Research Lifecycle Department now encompasses the Map, Data and GIS Library and brings together many of the library\u2019s existing research-related services, including digital scholarship, research data management and scholarly communication.<\/li>\n<li>The Access Services Department has been renamed User Services and Engagement to better reflect its expanded role in student and community outreach.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Brock community members interested in learning more about the library\u2019s new organizational structure can attend a virtual information session on Monday, May 9 from 11 a.m. to noon. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and discuss changes in more detail.
