Brock graduate students can now submit research proposals to present at the 17th annual Mapping the New Knowledges (MNK)<\/a> Graduate Student Research Conference this April.<\/p>\n

Master\u2019s and doctoral students, at any stage of their research, have until Friday, March 11 to apply to give either an oral or poster presentation at the one-day conference on Thursday, April 14.<\/p>\n

Presented by the Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS), the MNK conference takes place from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Plaza Building and Cairns Family Health and Bioscience Research Complex.<\/p>\n

Suzanne Curtin, Vice-Provost and Dean of Graduate Studies, encourages graduate students across all Faculties to participate in the event, which creates opportunities for students to network and gain presentation experience in a multidisciplinary atmosphere.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Faculty of Graduate Studies supports the development of our graduate students\u2019 professional skills by providing programming and opportunities throughout the year,\u201d says Curtin. \u201cThrough MNK, students have an opportunity to showcase these skills, present their research and make connections with other students and faculty members in a professional and supportive environment.\u201d<\/p>\n

As part of the call for proposals, students must submit a maximum 250-word description of their research in plain language appropriate for review by a multidisciplinary committee.\u00a0Students must also identify up to 10 keywords about their research to help group presenters appropriately.<\/p>\n
