The community is welcome to attend an upcoming open mic night, where Indigenous students are invited to express themselves and share their culture.<\/p>\n
Taking place at 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 26 at Mahtay Caf\u00e9 in St. Catharines, the event will be co-hosted by Brock University Aboriginal Student Services and Indigenous Education at Niagara College.<\/p>\n
Cindy Biancaniello, Brock\u2019s Aboriginal Events Co-ordinator, said the chance for Indigenous students to take the stage to share music, poetry, jokes and other forms of expression can be an enriching experience for everyone in attendance.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt offers Indigenous students a safe and welcoming space to share their culture through speaking their language or sharing a song, and it\u2019s a great opportunity for non-Indigenous people in attendance to listen and learn,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Public health regulations, including masking and proof of vaccination status, will be in effect.<\/p>\n
