Brock alumna Angela Salvatore (BA \u201902) will reflect on experiences that have shaped her pathway to leadership in the male-dominated legal field when she returns\u202fto speak with the University\u2019s\u00a0Women in\u00a0Leadership (WIL) group\u00a0on Monday, Nov. 22.<\/p>\n
The Sociology graduate and first woman to Chair the Ontario Bar Association Taxation Law Section will discuss pay equity in the legal profession while also touching on other challenges faced by working women.<\/p>\n
Salvatore, who was recently recognized with the 2021 Faculty of Social Sciences Distinguished Graduate Award<\/a>, will draw on personal experience as she talks about how to handle, navigate and overcome sexual harassment in the workplace.<\/p>\n Having been the target of gender- and faith-based discrimination, Salvatore will share lessons she has learned about how to challenge a system that perpetuates victim-blaming, and will highlight related supports and resources.<\/p>\n The session, taking place from 1 to 2 p.m. on Microsoft Teams, marks Salvatore\u2019s third virtual visit to WIL.
