The Office of Research Services and the Brock University Library have launched the second year of the Building Better Research (BBR) professional development workshop series.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s sessions will touch on a variety of topics, including open access publishing; intellectual property and commercialization; equity, diversity and inclusion; and community engagement, among others.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe basis of the BBR series is to respond to researchers\u2019 needs and questions and offer current and timely support in a complex and evolving research environment,\u201d says Nicole Nolan, Associate University Librarian, Research.<\/p>\n
Co-organizer Sharlee Cranston-Reimer, Research Officer in the Office of Research Services, says the workshops aim to make it easier for researchers to apply for grants, improve grant outcomes, build a culture of research, help to onboard new researchers and support graduate students.<\/p>\n
\u201cLast year\u2019s series brought together groups of people who have a lot of overlap but don\u2019t have a lot of opportunities to connect,\u201d she says. \u201cThrough the workshops, we saw people making connections and building relationships, and we are thrilled to continue with that momentum.\u201d<\/p>\n
