As previously announced, Brock University and the City of Burlington continue to work on plans to relocate Brock\u2019s current Hamilton campus to a new site in Burlington.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0City\u00a0has expressed an interest in\u00a0the former Robert Bateman High School and Brock has been identified as one potential user of the facility. At this time, the University is in planning discussions with the City on its space requirements.<\/p>\n
Pending the outcome of the transaction between the City of Burlington and the Halton District School Board,\u00a0Brock\u00a0is changing its\u00a0expected relocation date to September 2023 to allow ample time for due diligence and site preparations.<\/p>\n
The University will\u00a0continue\u00a0operating at its Hamilton campus through the end of the 2022-23 academic year.<\/p>\n
\u201cRelocating to Burlington is a strategic priority for Brock University and an important step to reach out to new student populations in the GTA,\u201d said Interim President Lynn Wells. \u201cWe have a committed partner in the City of Burlington and are eager to move there given its connectivity to public transit, its proximity to our students, and the many opportunities to partner with the City and others.\u201d<\/p>\n
Burlington Mayor Marianne Meed Ward said the City is \u201cthrilled at the prospect of welcoming Brock University to our city.\u201d<\/p>\n
