As Brock University students resume on-campus activities, they can now more easily access the many health resources available to them.<\/p>\n
Appointments through Brock\u2019s Student Wellness and Accessibility Centre (SWAC), which includes Student Health Services, Personal Counselling Services and Student Accessibility Services, are available in person and online.<\/p>\n
All appointments are conducted by members of the SWAC team, who have each received appropriate training<\/a> that encompasses understanding of lived experiences and unique medical and other needs of all Brock students, including members of the University\u2019s two-spirit, and lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer communities; students who are Black, Indigenous and People of Colour; and student sex workers.<\/p>\n To book an appointment with Student Health Services, which can include a health exam, addressing alcohol or drug concerns, or sexually transmitted infection testing, among other services, call 905-688-5550 x3243.<\/p>\n Student Health Services is also offering COVID-19 vaccination clinics, with Moderna<\/a> vaccines available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Pfizer<\/a> vaccines for people who are under 18 years of age on Wednesdays.<\/p>\n Students wishing to access Personal Counselling Services are encouraged to download the My SSP app in the App Store<\/a> or Google Play<\/a> for 24-7 chat or text support and to search for the Brock University Counselling program when creating their profile.<\/p>\n Appointments with Personal Counselling Services for students to discuss concerns related to their life at Brock as well as their personal life can be made by calling 1-833-276-2533 (1-833-BROCK33) or 001-416-382-3257 if outside of North America.<\/p>\n Those interested in accessing Student Accessibility Services are asked to email asksas@brocku.ca<\/a>\u00a0or visit SWAC\u2019s\u00a0new students page\u00a0<\/a>to access information regarding available services and accommodations.<\/p>\n In addition to the aforementioned services that are immediately available to students, there will also be Wellness Hub<\/a> peer-to-peer drop-in or virtual sessions beginning the week of Monday, Sept. 13 and a fall series of workshops<\/a> to support students, with topics including\u00a0Building Strong Relationships,\u00a0Growth Mindset, Start your\u00a0Semester Right,\u00a0and more.<\/p>\n
