A green and white GO bus will be rolling into Brock University\u2019s St. Catharines campus beginning Tuesday, Sept. 7.<\/p>\n
Last week, Metrolinx announced increased weekday services<\/a> across the GO Transit network to meet passenger demand as many people return to school and the workplace this fall.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are excited at the addition of GO Bus service to Brock\u2019s campus,\u201d said Brock Interim President Lynn Wells. \u201cThis service will have a tremendous impact for our students, providing them with a new means to travel to campus that will improve accessibility, offer greater choice and flexibility, and alleviate traffic on our roads. We want to thank the Government of Ontario and Metrolinx for bringing this service to Brock.\u201d<\/p>\n Included in the new services are GO buses serving Brock University. Route 18 (Lakeshore West) has been extended from Hamilton to Stoney Creek, Grimsby, Beamsville and St. Catharines.<\/p>\n “I am happy to hear increased GO Transit weekday bus service is coming to Brock University for the start of classes in September,” said Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff. “The increase in service provides a reliable transit option and improved accessibility for new and returning students.”<\/p>\n Brock University Students\u2019 Union Vice-President, Finance and Administration, Ammaar Ruxshan said the additional public transit option is \u201ca huge development for Brock students.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHaving transportation directly from Brock to Hamilton\/Burlington eight times per day will help students get to where they need to be efficiently and in an affordable way,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Graduate Students\u2019 Association President Christopher Yendt said he is thankful to everyone who helped make the new bus connection a reality.<\/p>\n \u201cThis was the product of successive years of student leaders and senior administrators working together with a common goal in mind, constantly committed to improving the campus experience,” he said.<\/p>\n To plan a trip, visit the Go Transit website<\/a> for up-to-date schedules and information.
