As Accounting Professor Jingyu (Jennifer) Li begins a new role at Brock\u2019s Goodman School of Business, her focus is set clearly on the School\u2019s students.<\/p>\n
Li, who joined the University 18 years ago, was appointed as Goodman\u2019s Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs Thursday, July 1. In this position, she hopes to contribute more to enhancing the student experience and creating innovative programs.<\/p>\n
\u201cMany of our students are first-generation university students, and I want to provide personalized support to help them navigate the maze of university programs and supports,\u201d Li said. \u201cI want to contribute to student growth as much as possible and to do that, we need to be student-focused. To focus, we have to be smart and innovative in developing programs that will help our graduates have a fulfilled career.\u201d<\/p>\n
Her previous experience includes serving as founding Director of the CPA Ontario Centre for Public Policy and Innovation in Accounting, and as Director of the Confucius Institute at Brock University.<\/p>\n
Li served as a member of the undergraduate program committee, CPA accreditation committee and the committee that established the Master of Professional Accountancy (MPAC) program, and was a key contributor to attaining CPA Ontario accreditation for the MPAC program.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have a vested interest in the growth of the Goodman School of Business,\u201d she said. \u201cWhat I can do to contribute more to the School is bring my teaching and research excellence to this service role to make it the best place for both students and faculty.\u201d<\/p>\n
Goodman Dean Andrew Gaudes is looking forward to working with Li in this new capacity.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know Jennifer is committed to working with staff and faculty to ensure our undergraduate students receive the world-class experience they have come to expect in their business education, as we position them for success upon graduating,\u201d Gaudes said.<\/p>\n
