{"id":73068,"date":"2021-06-30T14:35:10","date_gmt":"2021-06-30T18:35:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=73068"},"modified":"2021-06-30T16:10:16","modified_gmt":"2021-06-30T20:10:16","slug":"brock-grad-shares-passion-for-paris-on-foreword-podcast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2021\/06\/brock-grad-shares-passion-for-paris-on-foreword-podcast\/","title":{"rendered":"Brock grad shares passion for Paris on Foreword podcast"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Growing up with her Italian heritage and studying French in school, April Pett (BA \u201907) naturally became passionate about languages.<\/p>\n<p>The Brock alumna shared the story of how she turned that passion into a tour business in Paris on the <a href=\"https:\/\/foreword.podbean.com\/e\/april-in-paris\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">latest episode<\/a> of Foreword, a <a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2021\/06\/humanities-launches-second-season-of-foreword-podcast\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">podcast by and about Brock\u2019s Faculty of Humanities<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring my third year of university at Brock, I was overseas for a total of 14 months,\u201d says Pett, who studied in Italy and France through Brock International programs. \u201cI really had the opportunity to immerse myself in the French culture.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After moving to Australia for several years after graduation, the Thorold native decided to return to France to brush up on her French. She has been there the past seven years.<\/p>\n<p>Pett, who previously worked in tourism in Niagara, initially had a position with an American tour company in Paris before launching out on her own.<\/p>\n<p>Now, she works with museum guides, artists, chocolatiers, pastry chefs and private chauffeurs to provide tours of Paris.
