On behalf of the entire Brock University community, we want to extend our deepest condolences to Canada\u2019s Indigenous communities at this most difficult time.<\/p>\n
The horrific discovery of hundreds of unmarked graves at the site of the former Marieval Indian Residential School in Saskatchewan is heartbreaking, and a reminder that the terrible impact of Canada\u2019s colonial history continues to this day.<\/p>\n
Brock is unequivocally committed to decolonization<\/a>, but we know there is much work to be done. We urge all members of the Brock community to join us in advancing the recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission<\/a> and strengthening relationships with Indigenous communities across all activities of the University.<\/p>\n In honour of those lost, Brock has lowered its flags to half-mast, and will illuminate the Arthur Schmon Tower in orange.<\/p>\n A national Indian Residential School Crisis Line has been set up to provide support for former students and those affected.
