{"id":72014,"date":"2021-05-04T09:37:27","date_gmt":"2021-05-04T13:37:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=72014"},"modified":"2021-05-04T16:26:49","modified_gmt":"2021-05-04T20:26:49","slug":"cra-seminar-to-discuss-canada-emergency-wage-subsidy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2021\/05\/cra-seminar-to-discuss-canada-emergency-wage-subsidy\/","title":{"rendered":"CRA seminar to discuss Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy program will be the focus of an information session presented by Brock University and the Canada Revenue Agency on Thursday, May 6.<\/p>\n<p>The free virtual event, set to take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m., is the latest in a series of seminars offered by <a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/linc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brock LINC<\/a> that focus on economic recovery in the COVID-19 era. \u00a0Everyone is welcome to attend.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/revenue-agency\/services\/subsidy\/emergency-wage-subsidy.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy program<\/a> is available to employers who have experienced a decrease in revenue as a result of the pandemic. Employers may be eligible to receive a subsidy to cover a portion of their employees\u2019 pay. The program is intended to prevent additional job losses by enabling organizations to keep employees on payroll, re-hire workers and facilitate a return to normal operations.
