The slow political response to climate change, scientific messaging about the phenomenon and what the future may hold will be among the topics discussed during an upcoming talk by meteorologist David Grimes (BSc \u201975).<\/p>\n

Grimes\u2019 online public talk, \u201cClimate politics and science: Obstacles, relationships and responsibilities,\u201d will take place on World Meteorological Day, Tuesday, March 23, from noon to 1 p.m.<\/p>\n

Meteorologist David Grimes (BSc \u201975) will speak about climate change during an online talk hosted by Brock’s Department of Geography and Tourism on Tuesday, March 23.<\/p><\/div>\n

Grimes, an Adjunct Professor in Brock\u2019s Department of Geography and Tourism Studies, previously served as the President of World Meteorological Organization, Assistant Deputy of Minister Environment and Climate Change Canada, Director General of Environment Canada and Executive Director of Canadian Climate Centre.<\/p>\n

In 2020, Grimes was appointed to the Order of Canada<\/a> for his “outstanding leadership in meteorology and for his pioneering development of a global strategy on climate change and disaster-risk preparedness.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following his talk, Grimes will take questions from viewers.<\/p>\n
