{"id":70434,"date":"2021-02-08T09:56:32","date_gmt":"2021-02-08T14:56:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=70434"},"modified":"2021-02-08T15:54:28","modified_gmt":"2021-02-08T20:54:28","slug":"cra-seminar-to-discuss-tax-relief-measures-for-individuals-small-businesses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2021\/02\/cra-seminar-to-discuss-tax-relief-measures-for-individuals-small-businesses\/","title":{"rendered":"CRA seminar to discuss tax relief measures for individuals, small businesses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">As tax season quickly approaches, Brock is again working with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) to host an information session on personal and small business tax relief measures.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The Brock community is invited on to participate in a virtual seminar Thursday, Feb. 11 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. that will focus on the Canada Recovery Benefit, an income support for employed and self-employed individuals who are not entitled to Employment Insurance (EI) benefits. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u201cIn collaboration with the CRA, Brock is proud to offer the latest in a series of seminars on economic recovery in the COVID-19 era,\u201d said Phillip Gingras, Executive Director of the Brock LINC. \u201cMany Canadians, both individuals and entrepreneurs, have been impacted by this pandemic. With the tax season coming up, this is a timely session on how both individuals and the self-employed can benefit from these measures and what impacts and implications they\u2019ll have on your taxes.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The session will discuss who qualifies for the benefit, tax implications, the benefit\u2019s requirements, covenants and next steps.
