Brock\u2019s Secretariat\u2019s Office has launched a new webpage<\/a> dedicated to the ongoing search for new members to sit on the University Senate\u2019s committees.<\/p>\n

Faculty members and professional librarians are encouraged to visit the new webpage regularly to stay updated on committee vacancies.<\/p>\n

Volunteering on a Senate committee provides the opportunity to contribute to the development of academic policies; create new ideas; be part of discussions with the Senate committee; help shape recommendations for the Senate; and share insights on academic programs, processes and standards.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe new webpage will provide better access to the available opportunities to volunteer on Senate\u2019s committees,\u201d said Don Cyr, Professor of Finance and Chair of Senate. \u201cWe recognize everyone is busy, especially in the current situation we find ourselves, but the opportunity to serve on a Senate committee is an important way by which a person can influence academic policy, procedures and programs, and contribute to the accomplishment of Brock\u2019s strategic priorities.\u201d<\/p>\n

Committee members must be able to meet monthly, with exceptions. The main responsibilities of members are to review meeting materials, attend meetings, contribute to discussions, vote on recommendations to Senate and assist with special working groups of subcommittees established by the Committee when necessary.<\/p>\n

Interested individuals may nominate themselves or be nominated by a colleague. Applications are accepted until the vacancies are filled or until otherwise noted.<\/p>\n
