For the third time, Brock University has been recognized as one of Hamilton-Niagara\u2019s Top Employers.<\/p>\n
The annual competition, now in its 13th year, is organized by the editors of Canada\u2019s Top 100 Employers. This designation awards the top workplaces in the area that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s winners were announced on Thursday, Nov. 26 in The Hamilton Spectator<\/em>. In addition to this year, Brock previously received the designation in 2017 and 2018.<\/p>\n To select the top workplaces, each employer was compared to similar organizations in their respective fields to determine which offers both the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.<\/p>\n \u201cThis recognition demonstrates that Brock is a great place to learn, research, teach and work,\u201d said University President Gervan Fearon. \u201cWe all collaboratively work hard together to be an inclusive and innovate workplace that values and celebrates our employees. We are proud to celebrate this achievement, which tells us that our shared and continued efforts are creating an excellent university community for our faculty, staff and students.\u201d<\/p>\n Each employer was evaluated based on the physical workplace; work and social atmosphere; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off entitlements; employee communications; performance management practices; training and skills development opportunities; and community involvement.<\/p>\n As Brock, along with the rest of the world, continues to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, this designation confirms the University continues to prioritize the needs of its faculty and staff.<\/p>\n \u201cI am thrilled that Brock is again being recognized as a top employer,\u201d said Jennifer Guarasci, Associate Vice-President, Human Resources. \u201cThis recognition reinforces that the University continues to see the health and wellness of its employees as a top priority, and that Brock has worked hard to create a positive and supportive working experience for its staff and faculty.\u201d<\/p>\n
