Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) mutual funds are designed to be more sustainable for the business community and the world, but are they meeting investors\u2019 expectations?<\/p>\n
That\u2019s the question this week\u2019s Goodman Luncheon Speaker Series event aims to answer.<\/p>\n
Shane Dikolli, Associate Professor of Accounting at Darden School of Business, University of Virginia, will share his research during the presentation titled \u201cWalk the Talk: ESG Mutual Fund Voting on Sustainability-based Shareholder Resolutions.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is largely up to individual corporations to take operational actions that are not only considerate of the environment but also are sustainable in a world of finite resources,\u201d says Dikolli.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are investigating whether ESG mutual funds \u2018walk the talk\u2019; do they vote in support of sustainability initiatives undertaken the by corporations in which the ESG mutual funds invest?\u201d<\/p>\n
