Brock University\u2019s James A. Gibson Library will open its doors for limited access to study space.<\/p>\n
Starting Monday, Sept. 28, there will be 45 bookable study spaces in the Library\u2019s first-floor Matheson Learning Commons. The spaces will be separated for physical distancing and only individual study will be allowed. To start, the service is limited to current Brock students.<\/p>\n
The limited access falls within what is permitted under Brock Stage 3 of the University\u2019s recovery plan<\/a>, and is part of the Library\u2019s own staged recovery plan.<\/p>\n The study spaces must be booked in advance online and are available for up to two hours per day. They\u2019re available from Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to noon, and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. For more information and to access the booking calendar, visit the Library website here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Face coverings will be required at all times, no food is permitted and any drinks must be in a covered container.<\/p>\n In order to maintain a clean and safe environment, the spaces will be fully sanitized twice per day, and sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer are available throughout the Matheson Learning Commons.<\/p>\n Under the current recovery stage, no access to computers or printers is available at this time and only study space on the first floor of the library is available for booking.<\/p>\n Access to the Library\u2019s print collection remains through a book pickup service, which is now available to both graduate and undergraduate students.<\/p>\n The material available for pickup has also been expanded to include items from the Map, Data, and GIS Library, and limited equipment from the Makerspace. IRC materials are also available for pickup<\/a>.<\/p>\n
