{"id":68155,"date":"2020-09-22T10:44:33","date_gmt":"2020-09-22T14:44:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=68155"},"modified":"2020-09-22T14:07:59","modified_gmt":"2020-09-22T18:07:59","slug":"updated-covid-19-modules-released-for-those-required-to-be-on-campus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2020\/09\/updated-covid-19-modules-released-for-those-required-to-be-on-campus\/","title":{"rendered":"Updated COVID-19 modules released for those required to be on campus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"BodyA\"><span class=\"NoneB\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Brock\u2019s Health, Safety and Wellness (HSW) has updated the modules focused on the COVID-19 pandemic to help the University community remain safe and informed while on campus.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"BodyA\"><span class=\"NoneA\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Available for all staff, faculty and students, HSW has been consistently updating their COVID-19 information to keep in line with best practices and <\/span><\/span><span class=\"Hyperlink0\"><span lang=\"IT\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.niagararegion.ca\/health\/covid-19\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Niagara <span class=\"None\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Region Public Health recommendations<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span><span class=\"NoneA\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"BodyA\"><span class=\"NoneB\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u201cBrock is ensuring that for those faculty, staff and students who are required to be onsite, they are kept informed with the most up to date information of what they can expect on campus,\u201d said Leigh Harold, Director, HSW. \u201cThe modules are just one way in which Brock is providing the University community with information about strategies to stay safe.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"BodyA\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The <span class=\"NoneB\">\u2018COVID-19 Safety Considerations on Campus\u2019 module is available to all Brock employees and students who are required and approved to be on campus. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"BodyA\"><span class=\"NoneB\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The employee module focuses on an overview of the virus, information on risk assessments of the workplace and reasonable control measures for the COVID-19 health risk, details on physical distancing, hygiene and face coverings, as well as information on Brock\u2019s available health and safety resources.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"BodyA\"><span class=\"NoneB\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The student module details general information about COVID-19, focuses on Brock\u2019s COVID-19 screening tool,\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">outlines Brock\u2019s safety regulations, highlights <span class=\"NoneB\">health and safety resources relevant to students, and provides specific information related to Student Health Services.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"BodyA\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The <span class=\"NoneB\">\u2018COVID-19 Safety Considerations for Laboratory Spaces\u2019 module is intended for students and employees required and approved to be working in Brock\u2019s laboratories. This module focuses on lab-specific safety measures and protocols such as common-use equipment rooms, personal protective equipment and the proper cleaning and disinfectant procedures. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"BodyA\"><span class=\"NoneB\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">These modules can be found on the employee Sakai site and student Sakai site.
