In this week\u2019s Goodman\u2019s Luncheon Speaker Series, Burak Kazaz will discuss how analytical methods can be adapted to help winemakers, distributors and consumers. The webinar presentation titled \u2018Wine Analytics,\u2019 will take place on Friday, Sept. 18 from noon to 2:30 p.m. via Lifesize<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Steven Becker Professor of Supply Chain Management, and Laura J. and L. Douglas Meredith Professor for Teaching Excellence at the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University will discuss his recent research developments involving the use of analytics in determining wine valuation.<\/p>\n \u201cRather than relying on the palates of several tasting experts alone, I will show how climatic and market information is incorporated into the determination of realistic prices,\u201d says Kazaz. \u201cRealistic prices, developed through analytical methods, create transparency in this highly opaque market, build investor confidence and make the trade of wines more efficient.\u201d<\/p>\n
