The Brock University community is mourning the loss of recently retired Professor Raafat Roubi, who died Thursday, Aug. 27.<\/p>\n
Roubi joined Brock University in January 1991 and spent the next three decades teaching courses in external reporting and financial accounting with the Goodman School of Business. He was a member of the Master of Accountancy program committee, Brock University Senate and advisory committee of the CPA\/Goodman Institute for International Issues in Accounting. His list of peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations is extensive. He retired in April 2020.<\/p>\n
Before joining Brock, Roubi held academic appointments at Memorial University of Newfoundland; University of Detroit Mercy in Detroit, Michigan; Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi; and Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt.<\/p>\n
Roubi earned a Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Business Administration in Accounting from University of North Texas as well as a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from Ain Shams University.<\/p>\n
