Factory farming and industrialized animal slaughtering are being recognized as\u00a0dangerous for workers\u2019 health, as potential\u00a0causes of the next pandemic\u00a0and as both\u00a0ethically\u00a0and\u00a0environmentally\u00a0unsustainable.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Early numbers suggest\u00a0noteworthy increases\u00a0in the purchase of plant-based foods during the pandemic. New vegan products are being brought to market almost weekly. And\u00a0advancements in cultured \u201cclean\u201d meat\u00a0may soon result in mass production.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>These technological innovations mean that meat can be created for those who wish to consume it without needing to kill animals.\u00a0Diverse investors, including Bill Gates, Richard Branson, Leonardo DiCaprio and leaders of major agribusinesses, recognize the opportunity to more\u00a0efficiently and sustainably produce products.
