{"id":66977,"date":"2020-07-09T09:30:09","date_gmt":"2020-07-09T13:30:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=66977"},"modified":"2020-07-09T10:48:36","modified_gmt":"2020-07-09T14:48:36","slug":"apparmor-alert-testing-to-occur-wednesday-july-15-at-11-p-m","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2020\/07\/apparmor-alert-testing-to-occur-wednesday-july-15-at-11-p-m\/","title":{"rendered":"AppArmor Alert testing to occur Wednesday, July 15 at 11 p.m."},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Brock University\u2019s Campus Security Services will be conducting a second live test of the AppArmor Alert mass notification system on Wednesday, July 15 at 11 p.m. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Campus Security, Brock ITS and AppArmor have been working diligently to correct any technical issues identified in last month\u2019s test. The upcoming test will not require any action from the Brock community. The specific time was selected as to not disrupt online classes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Brock staff, faculty and students, including those working remotely using Brock owned or managed devices, will receive the test message. The testing will be sent to many of the AppArmor Alert system mass notification alerting mechanisms, such as: desktops, email or SMS messaging, Brock and Campus Security Facebook and Twitter feeds, or through voice and\/or text messages to Brock office or cellphones.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">Users can press the acknowledge and close option to end the alert. Alternatively, the alert screen will automatically disappear once the test alert has been deactivated by Campus Security. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">For those who are on campus, an audible message will be broadcasted via the P.A. system and a scrolling message will be visible via the I.P. clocks. <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">AppArmor will be monitoring and analyzing the results, which will then be reviewed for the test\u2019s successes and deficiencies.
