Brock University is closing on Thursday, July 2 and Friday, July 3 to allow employees, faculty and staff to fully enjoy the Canada Day holiday. The two days will be considered holidays as declared by the President and are in addition to the \u2018floater\u2019 day already provided to eligible employees.<\/p>\n
Classes scheduled for July 2 and 3 will take place as planned. Employees who are teaching on those days can discuss alternative time off with their supervisors.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis has been an extraordinary time period,\u201d says President Gervan Fearon. \u201cOur faculty and staff have worked tirelessly to help our students and our community successfully navigate through the transition ensuring a successful Spring\/Summer Term, while preparing for a new and exciting Fall Term. By closing the campus on July 2 and July 3, we wanted to take a moment to say thank you to our employees for their many contributions to the University community and to Niagara region.\u201d<\/p>\n
Human Resources will cancel any days currently booked off on July 2 and 3 in Workday and return them to each employee\u2019s time off bank, to be used at a later date. Anyone who is required to work on July 2 and\/or 3 will be provided an equivalent amount of time off without loss of regular wages, to be scheduled with their supervisor at a mutually agreeable time within the current calendar year.<\/p>\n
