In addition to <\/span>Brock University\u2019s Virtual Open House<\/a><\/span>, the Department of International Market Development (IMD) has increased virtual offerings for prospective students, including market-based webinars, one-on-one virtual chats and live info sessions via Brock International’s Instagram account<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Brock International Recruitment Officer Karen Dancy would typically be travelling across the world right now to speak with agent partners and prospective students and their families. Instead, she went live last week to speak about the Brock experience on social media. <\/span><\/p>\n

She hosted the Instagram live session on Friday, April 17 with Javad Rahimi, CEO, <\/span>Better Land Immigration Consultancy<\/a><\/span>. The academic agency partner of Brock, who focuses on incoming students from Iran, has more than 16,000 followers on Instagram who supports Brock recruitment efforted for English as a Second Language (ESL), undergraduate and graduate enrolment.<\/span><\/p>\n

Megha Srivastav, Brock Relationship Manager – India and South Asian Markets, <\/span>also took to Instagram recently to connect with prospective students. On Monday, April 20, she co-hosted a live session with Amit Jallan, Managing Director, <\/span>Enbee Education Centre (EEC)<\/a><\/span> in India.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOur initiatives have been applauded by our agent partners and were very well received by the potential students and their parents,\u201d said Srivastav. \u201cWe are also getting noticed in the Canadian education circuit in India for such activities.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Both live streams received more than 1,000 views from potential future students of Brock. Additionally, webinars delivered by IMD recruiters between April 13 and 17 were attended by 427 prospective applicants.<\/span><\/p>\n

The same week, IMD offered seven online training sessions to more than 90 of Brock\u2019s agent partners, which ranged in topics from applications and admissions, Spring and Summer Term virtual ESL programming, and scholarship and awards information.<\/span><\/p>\n

IMD is also focusing on showcasing Brock to future students, during a time in the recruitment season that\u2019s typically focused on current applicants. <\/span><\/p>\n

The department attended six virtual recruitment fairs throughout March and April with plans for five more in May and June, including three EduCanada fairs promoted by Global Affairs Canada. The fairs focus on 35 key markets for the University, including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, and Vietnam.<\/span><\/p>\n

Starting Monday, May 4, IMD will be implementing more live chat hours and virtual \u2018coffee with a recruiter\u2019 webinars for prospective students to meet with a Brock recruiter knowledgeable about the region they reside in.
