{"id":64534,"date":"2020-03-06T14:08:12","date_gmt":"2020-03-06T19:08:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=64534"},"modified":"2020-03-06T18:52:13","modified_gmt":"2020-03-06T23:52:13","slug":"tim-hortons-not-accepting-reusable-cups-amid-coronavirus-concerns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2020\/03\/tim-hortons-not-accepting-reusable-cups-amid-coronavirus-concerns\/","title":{"rendered":"Tim Hortons not accepting reusable cups amid coronavirus concerns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">As a result of the global<\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"normaltextrun\">spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), Tim Hortons restaurants, including both locations at Brock University, are temporarily halting their acceptance of reusable cups.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">While health officials haven\u2019t<\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"normaltextrun\">recommended changing procedures and the risk for Canadians is low, Tim Hortons\u2019 announcement follows<\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"normaltextrun\">the news<\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"normaltextrun\">of<\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"normaltextrun\">similar decisions made by<\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"normaltextrun\">Starbucks<\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"normaltextrun\">and The Second Cup Ltd.<\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"normaltextrun\">to prevent further spread of the illness.<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">A<\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"normaltextrun\">major<\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"normaltextrun\">focus of this year\u2019s Roll Up the Rim, which returns March 11,<\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"normaltextrun\">was intended to be sustainable<\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"advancedproofingissue\">through the use of<\/span><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"normaltextrun\">reusable mugs.
