Brock University\u2019s main campus is taking the next step in its transition to a cashless photocopying and printing system for all students.<\/p>\n

In late December, the last remaining coin deposit station machine, located in the Computer Commons (the Fishbowl), will be retired.<\/p>\n

When Brock reopens after the holidays on Jan. 2, people wanting to copy, print or scan will pay by using Flex Dollars that have been loaded on their Brock Card<\/a>. (Flex Dollars are also widely used across campus for food purchases and other goods.)<\/p>\n

This applies to print device machines in the Library, the Computer Commons and at computer labs at all of Brock\u2019s St. Catharines locations.<\/p>\n

In order to print, students will need to load funds on to their Brock Card Flex account<\/a>, which is set up for all students. Flex Dollars can be loaded on to Brock Cards in increments of $10 or more:<\/p>\n

  1. The best way is to securely add funds online yourself, at the Flex Dollars web page<\/a>. You will need a credit card (VISA\/Mastercard), or a Debit Mastercard<\/a> or VISA\/debit card<\/a>. Simply log in with your Brock ID and click Add Cash. If you do not have a credit card, ask your bank about setting one up.<\/li>\n
  2. You can use cash or debit to load funds if you visit the Brock Card Office (at the top of Market Hall Stairs), Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.<\/li>\n
  3. A third party (e.g. parent or guardian) can add funds on your behalf using the parental deposit feature<\/a>. They will need your student number and date of birth.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Visitors to Brock who want to use the copiers should visit the Library \u201cAsk Us\u201d desk, in the Matheson Learning Commons, to learn about printing options.<\/p>\n

    During the 2020 Winter term (January-April), $1 vouchers will be available for purchase after regular business hours and on weekends<\/strong>. These will be sold at<\/p>\n

      \n
    • the Ask Us desk (accepting debit, cash or credit);<\/li>\n
    • and in the Computer Commons (cash only, exact change required).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Please note:\u00a0 This system does not apply to the Hamilton campus, where vouchers will continue to be used for printing, as there are no other situations in which students can use Flex Dollars.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
