{"id":62332,"date":"2019-11-25T16:20:47","date_gmt":"2019-11-25T21:20:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=62332"},"modified":"2019-11-27T11:38:35","modified_gmt":"2019-11-27T16:38:35","slug":"goodman-dean-appointed-president-of-global-network","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2019\/11\/goodman-dean-appointed-president-of-global-network\/","title":{"rendered":"Goodman Dean appointed president of global network"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Andrew Gaudes plans to bring a Canadian perspective and Goodman\u2019s values to a worldwide network.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, the Goodman School of Business Dean was appointed as the President of the International Partnership of Business Schools (IPBS) organization at the semi-annual general assembly meeting at NEOMA Business School in Reims, France.<\/p>\n<p>IPBS is a consortium of 13 globally-oriented leading business schools in Europe, North America and South America. This network of business schools grants double degrees that requires study in two countries and promotes language and cultural fluency along with business aptitude. Five of these partners offer an intensive 12 to 15 month (depending on the track choice) Masters of Science in International Management (MIM).<\/p>\n<p>Goodman became the newest IPBS partner school and only Canadian member in March, providing Goodman students and faculty access to opportunities in Brazil, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Goodman currently offers double-degree options with three of the network\u2019s partners, which gives students the opportunity to earn degrees from both Goodman and the partner institution while gaining co-op experience in both Canada and abroad.<\/p>\n<p>Gaudes says he hopes that within his new role as President of IPBS, he is able to leverage the network for more opportunities for students, as well as\u00a0grow the network to include regions currently not represented.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI also hope to bring a Canadian perspective to IPBS along with Goodman\u2019s values of passion, perseverance and professionalism,\u201d says Gaudes. \u201cIt\u2019s important there is alignment with the values of Goodman and IPBS and to apply this in governing the network.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Despite only being a member\u00a0of the organization for just seven months, Gaudes says that he\u2019s noticed positive differences already.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re in very good company with world-leading schools spanning the globe,\u201d he says. \u201cWe\u2019re given more access to undergraduate and graduate programming, and using the network exposes students to different languages and cultures, while simultaneously opening up a new world of opportunities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gaudes was nominated for the two-year president role by the IPBS Board, which was then put to a vote by the consortia of 13 schools where he was selected.<\/p>\n<p>Executive Dean Anne Sinnott of Dublin City University Business School says the links between Ireland and Canada are very strong, and Brock University is a hugely popular choice among Irish students.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDean Gaudes\u00a0will no doubt bring huge value and commitment to Brock\u2019s membership of IPBS that will ensure Brock students have excellent international experiences through IPBS programmes,\u201d says Sinnott. \u201cWe welcome the fresh perspectives that he will bring in his capacity as president.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last month, Goodman School of Business Dean Andrew Gaudes was appointed as the President of the International Partnership of Business Schools (IPBS) organization at the semi-annual general assembly meeting at NEOMA Business School in Reims, France.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":44,"featured_media":62333,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[39,1,4],"tags":[5144,8482,8483,594,7738,7737],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/62332"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/44"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=62332"}],"version-history":[{"count":8,"href":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/62332\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":62381,"href":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/62332\/revisions\/62381"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/62333"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=62332"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=62332"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=62332"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
