Biryanis, oxtail, <\/span>ceviche<\/span> and pho are a small sample of the international cuisines available to the Brock community next week.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

An international food tour is one of several events taking place Monday, Nov. 18 to Friday, Nov. 22 for International Week, a bi-annual event held each semester to showcase Brock\u2019s diversity.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Students, staff and faculty can choose from four restaurants <\/span>in St. <\/span>Catharines<\/span> serving Indian, Jamaican, Mexican or Vietnamese food. Each dinner will be hosted by Brock University International student ambassadors who are familiar with the cuisine and have chosen restaurants that best reflect their cultures.<\/span> There is no fee to join a dinner, however, participants are responsible for the cost of their own entr\u00e9es, which range from $7 to $15.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>It\u2019s a great opportunity for the<\/span> Brock community to <\/span>sample <\/span>food they may have never tried before,\u201d said Sandra <\/span>Gru<\/span>osso<\/span>, Associate Director, Brock International Services. \u201cW<\/span>hat better way to try something new than with someone who is experienced with it?\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Also taking place during International Week is a trivia night focused on the countries represented at Brock, an international movie night where the University community can vote on which movie to watch, a Brazilian dance class, Kung Fu class, Chinese tea workshop, Day of the Dead history seminar, and <\/span>CultureFEST<\/span> celebration that showcases France and the West Indies island country of Saint Kitts and Nevis.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWith 2,000 international students from more than 100 countries studying at Brock, International <\/span>Week is a small highlight of the many cultures we have on campus,\u201d said Gruosso. \u201cWe\u2019re excited for the Brock community to experience our students\u2019 food, history and traditions.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This yea<\/span><\/span>r<\/span><\/span>\u2019s events are being held the same week as CBIE\u2019s annual International Education Week celebration, which is celebrated the third week of November in more than 100 countries.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
