Organizers hope to welcome a significant turnout from across the community for the Indigenous Rights Conference this Saturday, Nov. 16 in downtown St Catharines, where a host of scholars and leaders will examine a range of Indigenous issues.<\/p>\n
Taking place from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Brock University\u2019s Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts, the conference is free and open to interested community members.<\/p>\n
The day will include the Strong Water Women drum group, various film screenings (including<\/p>\n
Brock Chancellor Shirley Cheechoo\u2019s documentary Tracks in the Snow<\/em>), a feast featuring vegan and non-vegan food, and more.<\/p>\n The conference is hosted by the Supporters of Haudenosaunee Right to Hunt in collaboration with Brock Human Rights and Equity, the Centre for Women\u2019s and Gender Studies, Brock Justice Centre, Indigenous Solidarity Coalition at Brock and CUPE 4207.<\/p>\n
