{"id":61740,"date":"2019-11-01T15:20:26","date_gmt":"2019-11-01T19:20:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=61740"},"modified":"2020-03-13T11:19:36","modified_gmt":"2020-03-13T15:19:36","slug":"cuvee-2020-to-celebrate-the-best-in-ontario-vqa-wine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2019\/11\/cuvee-2020-to-celebrate-the-best-in-ontario-vqa-wine\/","title":{"rendered":"Cuv\u00e9e 2020 cancelled"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><i>EDITOR\u2019S NOTE: This event has been cancelled as part of Brock University\u2019s ongoing efforts to protect the health and safety of students, faculty, staff and the community in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mark your calendars for the most sought-after wine event of the year \u2014 the annual Cuv\u00e9e Grand Tasting has been set for Saturday, April 25, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The event, which serves as the largest celebration of VQA wine of its kind, will be held at the\u00a0Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls and will feature more than 100 wine selections from Ontario\u2019s top winemakers.<\/p>\n<p>Organized by Brock University\u2019s Cool Climate Oenology and Viticulture Institute (CCOVI), Cuv\u00e9e is a weekend-long celebration of Ontario VQA wine and local cuisine from chefs from across the region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCuv\u00e9e not only celebrates excellence in our industry, it also supports the next generation of winemakers and grape growers by funding valuable research and providing scholarships to students through the Cuv\u00e9e Legacy Fund,\u201d said CCOVI Director Debbie Inglis.<\/p>\n<p>Cuv\u00e9e 2020 will see the return of the popular \u201cWinemakers\u2019 Favourite Wines\u201d feature, along with gourmet food delicacies prepared by celebrated chefs at live cooking stations.
