My involvement in the sport has included scholar, critic, fan, coach and player. But I have to wonder what the Toronto Raptors\u2019 presence in the NBA final means to the great Canadian game.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Is this a transformational moment for both hockey and basketball? For a sport to become ingrained in Canadian nationalism, it must stir the collective imagination.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Hockey had Paul Henderson\u2019s goal in the 1972 Summit Series.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>A great deal of\u00a0academic\u00a0and\u00a0popular\u00a0work explores the glory of that moment.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>But now basketball has Kawhi Leonard\u2019s Game 7 buzzer-beater.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Will it replace Henderson and become this generation\u2019s magical sports moment?
