At the secondary level, students will find\u00a0fewer course options or fewer class sections due to teacher loss\u00a0while being required to\u00a0complete a minimum of four mandatory e-learning courses.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The potential consequences of mandatory e-learning for students who already\u00a0struggle in ordinary face-to-face classroom situations\u00a0are particularly troubling. Longitudinal research suggests the\u00a0level of individual support students receive from their teachers in high school\u00a0is important to staying in school. Are the most\u00a0vulnerable students\u00a0being put at increased risk for dropping out?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>School failure has profound economic consequences for individuals and society.
