{"id":57188,"date":"2019-04-02T08:16:07","date_gmt":"2019-04-02T12:16:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=57188"},"modified":"2019-04-03T14:02:23","modified_gmt":"2019-04-03T18:02:23","slug":"new-scan-and-deliver-service-available-through-brock-library","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2019\/04\/new-scan-and-deliver-service-available-through-brock-library\/","title":{"rendered":"New scan-and-deliver service available through Brock Library"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Brock Library is making it easier for the Brock community to complete assignments and conduct research wherever they are located.<\/p>\n<p>A new scan-and-deliver service takes requests for articles from print<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>journals and chapters from print<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>books and delivers them to emails as PDF scans.<\/p>\n<p>The service is available free of charge to current Brock students, staff and faculty members. Scans are guaranteed to be delivered within two business days.<\/p>\n<p>While an increasing number of books are available online, not everything is digital.<\/p>\n<p>Monica Rettig, Head of Access Services for the Brock Library, hopes the value-added service will make it more convenient for the Brock community to use the Library\u2019s rich trove of print holdings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re always looking for opportunities to make scholarly information more accessible and available,\u201d she said. \u201cWe hope the service will be especially useful to faculty researching off-site or students studying at a distance.
