{"id":57153,"date":"2019-04-01T09:46:14","date_gmt":"2019-04-01T13:46:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=57153"},"modified":"2024-09-01T09:55:50","modified_gmt":"2024-09-01T13:55:50","slug":"armstrong-feds-are-blowing-smoke-about-pot-supplies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2019\/04\/armstrong-feds-are-blowing-smoke-about-pot-supplies\/","title":{"rendered":"ARMSTRONG: Feds are blowing smoke about pot supplies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Michael Armstrong, Associate Professor of Operations Research in Brock\u2019s Goodman School of Business, wrote a <a href=\"https:\/\/theconversation.com\/feds-are-blowing-smoke-about-pot-supplies-114507\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">piece recently published in <em>The Conversation<\/em><\/a> about the shortage of legal cannabis available in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Armstrong writes:<\/p>\n<p><em>Ontario\u2019s first legal cannabis shops are finally here. One challenge they\u2019ll face is Canada\u2019s nationwide product shortage. That\u2019s despite repeated federal government assurances of ample supplies.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Cannabis shortages\u00a0certainly seem to exist.\u00a0Ontario blames them\u00a0for its initial\u00a025-store limit. Alberta is also restricting shop licences, while\u00a0Qu\u00e9bec limits shopping hours.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>However, federal officials disagree.
