{"id":56679,"date":"2019-03-11T13:17:01","date_gmt":"2019-03-11T17:17:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=56679"},"modified":"2019-03-11T16:18:19","modified_gmt":"2019-03-11T20:18:19","slug":"brock-seeking-associate-university-librarian","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2019\/03\/brock-seeking-associate-university-librarian\/","title":{"rendered":"Brock seeking Associate University Librarian"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The University is seeking candidates to fill a key strategic leadership role in the Library.<\/p>\n<p>Expected to start in August, the <a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.wd3.myworkdayjobs.com\/en-US\/brocku_careers\/job\/St-Catharines-Main-Campus\/Associate-University-Librarian_JR-1002126\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Associate University Librarian<\/a> will work closely with colleagues, the Brock community and the University Librarian to develop and implement new strategic priorities, objectives and programs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an important role that will deliver programs related to student success, innovative physical and online spaces, curricular initiatives and creative engagement with the Brock community,\u201d says University Librarian Mark Robertson.<\/p>\n<p>Among other qualifications, applicants must have a Master of Library and Information Science or equivalent from an American Library Association accredited program and a minimum of seven years of experience as a professional librarian or archivist. They should also demonstrate formal leadership and\/or management experience and be comfortable working in an evolutionary environment and championing positive organizational change.<\/p>\n<p>In June, the Brock University Library will launch a new Digital Scholarship Lab and expanded Makerspace in the under-construction Rankin Family Pavilion \u2014\u00a0a modern, purpose-built 41,000-square-foot research, innovation and commercialization centre that places collaboration and entrepreneurship at the entranceway to the University.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an exciting time to join the team as we embark on new strategic directions and programs,\u201d says Robertson. \u201cThe chosen candidate will complement our talented community of librarians and staff who are committed to student success, collegiality and collaboration.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Interested applicants are invited to <a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.wd3.myworkdayjobs.com\/en-US\/brocku_careers\/job\/St-Catharines-Main-Campus\/Associate-University-Librarian_JR-1002126\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">apply online<\/a> by submitting a curriculum vitae, a statement of interest and the names and contact information of three professional references no later than Monday, April 15.<\/p>\n<p>The appointment will be for a five-year renewable term, with an underlying librarian appointment. The successful applicant will receive a salary level appropriate with experience and qualifications.
