When news outlets use maps to add visuals to stories, they are made through GIS.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But the software\u2019s value doesn\u2019t end there.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GIS is used for spatial analysis, city planning, viticulture research, environment research and sport analysis.
