{"id":56373,"date":"2019-02-27T10:34:50","date_gmt":"2019-02-27T15:34:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=56373"},"modified":"2019-02-27T10:36:11","modified_gmt":"2019-02-27T15:36:11","slug":"goodman-researcher-to-present-on-mining-legislation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2019\/02\/goodman-researcher-to-present-on-mining-legislation\/","title":{"rendered":"Goodman researcher to present on mining legislation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Canadian government is working towards increasing transparency in the mining industry with the creation of the Extractive Sector Transparency Measures Act (ESTMA).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this week\u2019s instalment of the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/goodman\/faculty-research\/luncheon-speaker-series\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Goodman Luncheon Speaker Series<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Associate Professor of Accounting Staci Kenno will discuss the implications of this act as she presents the findings of her co-authored paper, \u201cThe Impact of ESTMA on Reputation and Investment.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The talk will take place Friday, March 1 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in Goodman School of Business Room 205.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kenno is the recipient of the 2018<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/goodman\/faculty-research\/featured-research\/#1523041876937-f138622e-a455\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Goodman Department Research of the Year Award<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for Accounting, based on her recent research and contributions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The business school\u2019s speaker series provides an informal opportunity to listen to and discuss recent advances in research, teaching and practices with business colleagues.
