Chang will deliver a talk titled \u201cChina, China, China,\u201d in the Scotiabank Atrium of Brock\u2019s Cairns Family Health and Bioscience Research Complex starting at 11 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGordon Chang is the U.S.&#8217;s most perceptive commentator on China,\u201d said Brock University Associate Professor of Political Science Charles Burton, a former counsellor at the Canadian Embassy in Beijing. \u201cOver many years, he has foreshadowed\u00a0with astonishing predictive accuracy\u00a0the current unprecedented crisis in relations between China and the West, which is the hugely dominant issue in international relations for our times.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Chang is the author of <em>The Coming Collapse of China<\/em>, in which he lays out the argument that Beijing\u2019s internal weaknesses are driving China\u2019s dangerous behaviours.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is a very important and influential thinker on China&#8217;s domestic politics, as well as U.S. policy to China,\u201d Burton said. \u201cBrock is honoured to have him in this rare appearance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Political Science Speaker Series talks are open to everyone and free to attend.
