Light refreshments will be served with remarks about the project at 5 p.m. The exhibition runs until Feb. 24.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_55426\" style=\"width: 397px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-55426\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-55426\" src=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/High-school-students-art-1050x836.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"387\" height=\"308\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-55426\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Students from Laura Second Secondary School have been working to create self-portraits to showcase as part of a new Rodman Hall exhibition.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The self-portraits on display were created by 22 Grade 11 and 12 Visual Arts students from Laura Secord Secondary School in St. Catharines. Each piece of art began with an investigation of diverse materials and how individuals can be defined in a visual representation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Self-portraits have become a regular part of daily life for many, with smartphones making it possible to snap selfies at any time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe Face Value project aimed to explore the use of traditional and non-traditional approaches when it comes to creating self-portraits,\u201d said Peter Vietgen, Associate Professor of Art Education in the Department of Educational Studies.
