{"id":55256,"date":"2019-01-04T15:01:22","date_gmt":"2019-01-04T20:01:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=55256"},"modified":"2019-01-04T15:49:00","modified_gmt":"2019-01-04T20:49:00","slug":"funding-available-for-student-jobs-on-campus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2019\/01\/funding-available-for-student-jobs-on-campus\/","title":{"rendered":"Funding available for student jobs on campus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Brock students will again have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience on campus through the Canada Summer Jobs program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applications are being accepted until Wednesday, Jan. 16 by Brock\u2019s Office of Government and Community Relations to access funding for eligible jobs through the Government of Canada program. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Last year, federal funding supported several summer roles that positively impacted the University, including positions for three students who contributed to the creation of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2018\/11\/new-plan-enhances-brocks-environmental-focus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Brock\u2019s Sustainability Plan<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and two for students who led Brock\u2019s Trans-Inclusion and All-Genders Washroom projects.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jobs eligible for the program include those that provide meaningful employment that contribute to a student\u2019s career path and those that provide exposure to the mission of Brock University by aligning with its strategic direction.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To ensure all Brock applications receive the best consideration for funding, the University\u2019s offices of Government and Community Relations, and Human Resources\/Talent Acquisition will review each application against criteria set out by the program and will provide feedback, if needed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All Brock applications will be compiled and sent to Canada Summer Jobs in a single submission. Any applications for on-campus jobs that are not included in this central application will not be considered for funding.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Completed applications can be submitted to Jayne Crawley at <\/span><a href=\"mailto:jcrawley@brocku.ca\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">jcrawley@brocku.ca<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by Wednesday, Jan. 16.
