The Brock community is alerted to beware of a surge of bogus emails in which recipients are prompted to respond or are sometimes directed to make purchases such as iTunes cards.<\/p>\n
This type of criminal cyber scheme is not uncommon. Several hundred such emails were sent to Brock addresses over the weekend, many purporting to be from University President Gervan Fearon.<\/p>\n
Individuals at Brock should always carefully scrutinize any emails containing unusual messaging or suspicious requests. One way to check the authenticity of a message is to\u00a0hover your mouse over the return address and confirm the address is what you expect to see.<\/p>\n
