Students have been enrolling in Brock\u2019s Master of Accounting (MAcc) program since 2014 to fast-track their path to their CPA designation.<\/p>\n
However, having a graduate program that fulfills CPA Canada\u2019s Professional Education Program requirements has presented its own challenges and opportunities.<\/p>\n
This week\u2019s Goodman Luncheon Speaker Series<\/a> will feature Pascale Lapointe Antunes, Associate Professor of Accounting at Goodman School of Business, as she shares what she\u2019s learned about competency-based accounting education based on her experience with the MAcc program.<\/p>\n The talk will run Friday, Nov. 9 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in Goodman School of Business Room 310. Goodman faculty, staff and graduate students are invited to attend.<\/p>\n Lapointe Antunes is the 2018 Goodman School of Business Excellence in Teaching Award<\/a> recipient and has also received the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario\u2019s highest honour in the accounting profession<\/a> with the title of Fellow and receiving the FCPA designation.<\/p>\n The speaker series provides an informal opportunity to listen to and discuss recent advances in research, teaching and practices with business colleagues.<\/p>\n
