The Niagara Young Entrepreneur Kick-Off Weekend is coming up and organizers are looking for Niagara residents between the ages of 18 and 29 to participate.<\/p>\n
Based on the international Startup Weekend<\/a>, the program runs from Friday, Nov. 2 to Sunday Nov. 4 and takes participants through the process of creating a real company while working with their peers and mentors.<\/p>\n The event, hosted by Brock University\u2019s BioLinc<\/a> and Niagara College\u2019s ncTakeOff<\/a>\u00a0program provides experiential education for young people interested in entrepreneurship. Through the program, they will create working startups, collaborate with like-minded individuals and broaden their networks. Only new ideas are allowed to be pitched at the event so participants don\u2019t need any prior business experience to take part.<\/p>\n Those unable to attend the whole weekend are invited to the Friday, Nov. 2 night kick-off reception and keynote lecture from Barry Wright, who studies leadership and change as an Associate Professor at the Goodman School of Business<\/a>. The keynote starts at 5 p.m. in the Scotiabank Atrium of Brock’s Cairns Complex.<\/p>\n
