{"id":53934,"date":"2018-10-19T10:30:22","date_gmt":"2018-10-19T14:30:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/?p=53934"},"modified":"2018-10-19T15:46:39","modified_gmt":"2018-10-19T19:46:39","slug":"sounds-of-clarinet-and-piano-to-fill-musicnoon-stage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/2018\/10\/sounds-of-clarinet-and-piano-to-fill-musicnoon-stage\/","title":{"rendered":"Sounds of clarinet and piano to fill Music@Noon stage"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_53942\" style=\"width: 186px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-53942\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-53942\" src=\"https:\/\/brocku.ca\/brock-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Gary-Forbes.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"176\" height=\"231\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-53942\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pianist Gary Forbes.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Clarinetist Zoltan Kalman and pianist Gary Forbes will combine their sounds for the next RBC Foundation Music@Noon Recital Series performance on Tuesday, Oct. 23.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The show, which include works by composers Aaron Copland, Johannes Brahms and Luigi Bassi, is part of the free weekly concert series hosted by the Department of Music and generously sponsored by the RBC Foundation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kalman performs as principal clarinetist for both the Niagara Symphony and Symphony Hamilton, and also acts as the conductor for the University Wind Ensemble at Brock University.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Along with his work at Brock University as Staff Accompanist, Forbes is a freelance collaborative pianist, Director of Music at St. Cuthbert\u2019s Anglican Church and founder of the Reverberations Concert Series.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kalman and Forbes are among many talented musicians who will grace the Music@Noon stage throughout the academic year.
