Telemarketer Cassius \u201cCash\u201d Green (Lakeith Stanfield) discovers the key to professional success, which propels him into a macabre universe of greed. But Cash\u2019s professional success raises serious red flags with his girlfriend Detroit (Tessa Thompson), a performance artist and minimum-wage striver who&#8217;s secretly part of a Banksy-style activist collective. As his friends and co-workers organize in protest of corporate oppression, Cash falls under the spell of his company&#8217;s cocaine-snorting CEO Steve Lift (Armie Hammer), who offers him a salary beyond his wildest dreams.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Brian Tallerico (rogerebertbert.com) calls <\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sorry to Bother You<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u201cone of the funniest movies of the year,\u201d but it\u2019s also a \u201cfearless dissection of identity politics, corporate malevolence and the American tendency to look the other way when confronted with horror.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For more than 40 years, the Department of Communication, Popular Culture and Film has hosted the film society (previously known as a series) to bring some of the best in independent, international and Canadian cinema to St. Catharines.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tickets are available at the Film House at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre on the evening of screenings. General admission is $9 or $7 for members, plus tax.
